Sonali and Ranjit
Sonali and Ranjit were married on October 1st, with a ceremony and reception at Oheka Castle.
These two were high school sweethearts who met after school one day through mutual friends. They became close friends and stayed up all night talking on AIM after school. Then, one day, Ranjit asked her to be his girlfriend—and they have been together ever since.
That long and lasting friendship as well as their deep relationship truly shined through the three days of their wedding festivities. They had a Churra ceremony (with bangles), a Sangeet, and then a wedding and reception—and through each day, we couldn’t get over how lovingly they looked at each other.
Before the ceremony, they read letters from each other and then staged a first look, but even with the first look, nothing could match the expression on Ranjit’s face when Sonali walked down the aisle toward him. And Sonali looked positively elated when the priest announced that they were now officially married.
After the wedding itself, it was time for the reception, where Sonali and Ranjit stayed on the dance floor for most of the night. The speeches were also fantastic, because they were all related to each other. The way the emotions and the stories were shared was something so special. When a love has lasted as long as the love shared by this bride and groom, the stories are remarkable.
Of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t also mention the venue. Oheka Castle is one of the most beautiful New York wedding venues, and getting to photograph here is a dream. Just look at the pictures of this wedding—it looks like something out of a fairy tale. Oheka Castle is an iconic Long Island wedding venue, with its amazing gardens and stunning architecture.
Ranjit & Sonali, thank you so much for asking us to photograph your wedding. We loved being part of your love story and wish both of you nothing but continued love and success together.
