Robby + Sonia
Robby and Sonia were married on June 3rd, with a ceremony at Haddonfield United Methodist Church and a reception at Lucien’s Manor.
Sonia and Robby met in med school and are currently doing their residencies. Because of that, they are living apart, but not even distance can keep their love from shining through in everything they do. That bond keeps them close and is so impressive to everyone who knows them.
Before the wedding, we took some beautiful engagement pictures of this couple around New York City. We were able to capture some iconic New York backdrops, but the way Robby and Sonia look at each other makes photographing them effortless. Their love for one another radiates in their smiles.
On the day of the wedding, Sonia and Robby had opted not to do a first look before the ceremony. Usually, this is part of our wedding coverage, but for these two, the decision to wait until Sonia was walking down the aisle was exactly perfect. The best part of the whole day was seeing the emotions pass over Robby’s face when he saw her for the first time—and the emotions Sonia was clearly wearing in her own expressions as she prepared to be married.
The church itself was nothing less than stunning—a gorgeous venue to showcase these two beautiful people. The reception held at Lucien’s Manor was equally extravagant. The facility boasts such sophisticated surroundings and offers many places for beautiful wedding portraits. While at the reception, the performances at the wedding were absolutely spectacular. We were all especially touched when Sonia surprised Robby with a dancing performance just for him.
The bridal party was also a highlight of the day—it was huge! It can sometimes be unwieldy trying to manage that many people at once, but we managed it. Seeing the love and support that Robby and Sonia were surrounded by was nothing short of inspiring.
Sonia & Robby, thank you for asking us to be your wedding photographers. We were astounded by your love and your amazing bond as well as by the beautiful family and friends that came to celebrate with you. Congratulations to you both!
